About Durham Softball
Durham Softball is a co-ed, adult, recreational, slow-pitch, softball league where players compete to benefit local non-profits. The league is operated by Play NC, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that hosts recreational events and games to benefit other non-profits. Each team in the Durham Softball League represents one of Play NC’s 19 non-profit partners and players compete to earn donations to their representative’s cause.
Our first ever pitch was on April 15, 2018.
As of April 1, 2021, the Durham Softball League has…
- Raised more than $13,000 in cash donations for 19 different Durham non-profits.
- Donated more than 5,000 physical items, including dog toys, food, coats, and disaster relief supplies.
- Distributed more than $6,400 in food and supplies during the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, without playing a single game.
- Played 331 games of Softball and Scored 3879 Runs (11.72 Runs Scored / Game)
- Had more than 700 unique players sign up to play softball, with an average of more than 200 players per season.
- Hosted 58 Teams on the field to represent all 19 of our non-profit sponsors.
We promise a fun softball experience first, but our league gives the game importance beyond the field. If you want to help local causes while playing a fun game on Sunday afternoons, play Durham Softball.
